There is no North American soccer story more unifying and inspiring than Bernard Kamungo’s path to prominence. As a Tanzanian refugee, he joined a North Texas SC tryout in 2021 and seized every opportunity offered to him after making the team.
He crafted a flair for the big moment in MLS NEXT Pro, where he was good for 16 goals and five assists in 29 appearances.
Kamungo was rewarded with a first-team contract in August of 2023 and made himself a household name to the MLS audience when he delivered an 88th-minute game-winner in his MLS debut, and he continues to be the face of FC Dallas' development pipeline.
