The Texas State midfielder and 2024 Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year joins Chattanooga FC Women for the 2025 season!
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (February 28, 2025) — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has signed midfielder Kaylie Smith for the 2025 Chattanooga FC Women's WPSL season, pending federation and league approval.
"Kaylie has worked with me for many years and has always been a standout, high performer," said Chattanooga FC Technical Director Sebastian Giraldo. "She spent most of her youth development playing with boys and training with older athletes and her game shows it. She is mature tactically and can play any position across the defense and midfield lines."
The Corpus Christi native had an outstanding season with NCAA Division I side Texas State Bobcasts in 2024, playing over 1,500 minutes and scoring four goals and providing five assists, which earned her the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year award.
Before her college career, Smith helped lead Calallen High School to a 4A state final.
"We are excited to announce the signing of the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year," said Chattanooga FC Women Head Coach Juan Hernandez. "Kaylie will be an impactful and versatile player that will be able to play a variety of roles for us."
Smith expressed her excitement upon signing for Chattanooga FC Women.
"It's an incredible opportunity and I am super excited to see where the season takes us this summer," said Smith. "The fact that CFC wants us to build relationships beyond the club and reach out into the community is truly special, too."
2025 club season tickets, which includes men's and women's matches combined, are on sale now!
