A short and sweet MLS NEXT Pro Matchweek 6 was action-packed across a six-game slate, making for a highly competitive ballot of candidates for the weekly honors.
Huntsville City FC was named Team of the Matchweek after its 5-0 win over Chicago Fire FC II, its first home victory of 2025.
FC Cincinnati 2 also earned their first home win of the season and couldn't have done it without star striker Stefan Chirila leading the line with a Player of the Matchweek performance.
Colorado Rapids Academy forward Colton Swan saved the day with a late goal at North Texas SC to keep Rapids 2's road winning streak alive. Swan's heroics earned him a second all-time Rising Star of the Matchweek honor.

MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchweek 6: Huntsville City FC

A 5-0 win will always raise eyebrows around the league, and Huntsville City FC won't mind the attention one bit.
Their first home win of the season started with a four-goal first half, headlined by centerback Kevin Carmichael's brace, which included a Goal of the Matchweek entry.
Nashville SC Homegrown Adem Sipic added insurance in stoppage time to make it the most dominant win of Matchweek 6.
The win moves HCFC to fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchweek 6: Stefan Chirila

Leading from the front, FC Cincinnati 2 striker Stefan Chirila went supernova to lead his side to their first win of the season.
With a highlight-reel goal and assist, Chirilia was the star of the show in FCC2's 3-1 win over New York Red Bulls II on Sunday.
"It's a great feeling, especially to get our first win of the season," he told MLSNEXTPro.com postgame. "Even happier to get back on the score sheet. It's a great performance from the team."
Chirilia opened the scoring in the 14th minute of the match, and his long-range assist to Kenji Mboma Dem in the 57th minute sealed the victory.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional contract last season and officially became an FC Cincinnati Homegrown in January 2025.
MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 6: Colton Swan

At the death!
Colorado Rapids 2 are on a three-game winning streak and can thank 17-year-old Rapids Academy forward Colton Swan for the latest.
His game-winner in stoppage time on Sunday decided a valuable 3-2 road win over defending MLS NEXT Pro Cup champs North Texas SC.
The goal was good for his third of the 2025 season, following a brace in a 2-0 win at Austin FC II in Rapids 2's season opener.
Swan also won Rising Star of Matchweek 28 in 2024.
