MNUFC2 avenged a loss to Timbers2 earlier this season in a huge way, with 22-year-old striker Kameron Lacey scoring a hat trick on the way to a 4-0 win at National Sports Center.
Lacey is Matchday 15's Player of the Matchday. He raised his goal total to six with the hat trick, and helped MNUFC2 join a competitive pack in the middle of the Western Conference table. Lacey has also added two assists in the eight appearances he's made in 2023.
Lacey started things off by opening scoring from the penalty spot.
Early in the second half, Lacey found another goal by waiting patiently at the far post. Lacey finished strong when the ball deflected its way into his path.
The chemistry between Cameron Dunbar and Lacey was flowing by the 74th minute. Dunbar headed a looping cross down for Lacey to finish into the top right corner.
Lacey is in his first season with MNUFC2, joining the club after playing four years of collegiate soccer at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He had 17 goals and 14 assists in 58 appearances as a 49er.
As a youth player, Lacey played in the youth systems of FC Dallas and Orlando City. He has played internationally with Jamaica's U-17 and U-20 teams.
