Columbus Crew 2's captain Marco Micaletto has been awarded the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchday 7 after scoring an impressive goal against Huntsville City FC last Sunday.
A well-placed, lofted ball over Huntsville City FC's defense from midfielder Thomas Roberts put Micaletto in a prime position to score the game-winning goal for Crew 2. With enough space, Micaletto seized the opportunity to control the ball and secure the vital goal for the Capybaras.
Micaletto's goal dominated the Twitter poll, receiving over 75% of the votes for Goal of the Matchday, while no other goal received more than 10% of the votes.
Looking forward to Matchday 8, Crew 2 will host Orlando City B on Sunday, May 14, as they aim to build on their back-to-back victories.
