For the second time this season, St Louis CITY2 forward John Klein has earned the Goal of Matchday honor thanks to his strike against Portland Timbers2 during their Matchday 23 match.
Klein's goal occurred during the 63rd minute of the match, following a rebound in the Timbers2 box that landed near him. Without hesitation, the young striker executed a powerful left-footed strike, securing a 3-1 lead for his side.
CITY2 proceeded to outscore Portland Timbers2 4-1, edging closer to the seventh and final playoff position in the Western Conference.
A former player at Saint Louis University, Klein lead's his team in goals scored this season with a total of 12, and has been a key factor in CITY2's recent series of victories.
Looking ahead, CITY2 is set to face Earthquakes II at home on August 27th, as they look to climb up the Western Conference standings.
