What is MLS NEXT?
MLS NEXT is a youth soccer league in the United States and Canada operated by Major League Soccer. It serves as the top tier of youth development for boys, providing a structured path to college, professional, and national team opportunities. MLS NEXT Tier 1 is directly connected to our MLS NEXT Pro men’s first team.
What is the MLS NEXT Tier 1 pathway?
The Tier 1 Pathway includes the most elite youth clubs and athletes in the MLS NEXT ecosystem. These clubs consistently compete at the highest level, often directly affiliated with MLS academies or recognized as top-performing non-MLS clubs. CFC will participate in MLS NEXT Tier 1.
Who is eligible to play in MLS NEXT?
Chattanooga FC is entering MLS NEXT with boys teams in the 2011 (U15), 2012 (U14), and 2013 (U13) age groups for the 2025-2026 season. External athletes are welcome to tryout and be identified for CFC MLS NEXT.
Where will our MLS NEXT teams compete?
Chattanooga FC's MLS NEXT teams will compete in the Southeast Division of MLS NEXT Tier 1.
How do players get scouted and identified for CFC's MLS NEXT teams?
Scouting and identification occurs from the following ways:
- ID centers
- Regional development centers
- Invite-only tryout
- US Soccer regional and national ID events
- Local and regional club teams
- Showcase events
- Direct recruitment
