Before the end of the first half, Shak Mohammed scored the first goal of the game finishing a cross from Yeiler Valencia. CCFC goalkeeper, Alex Sutton, deflected the cross from Valencia, leading to a tap in goal for Mohammed.

Carolina Core FC equalized in the 60th minute of the match with a penalty kick scored by Ibrahim Covi. Jacob Evans sent in a corner kick, which was brought down by Josuha Rodríguez, who was fouled from behind, leading to the penalty kick. Covi stepped up to take the shot to equalize and smashed it into the top netting.

Josuha Rodriguez scored the winning goal for The Core. Orlando City B sent in a cross, which was cleared by the CCFC defender Carlos Mario Diaz. The clearance was sent into the midfield, where Rodríguez beat the Orlando defense and chipped the goalkeeper to put The Foxes up 2-1.
