Pachi Back in Style

Despite falling in a thriller, one positive note for The Foxes was the return to form of striker David "Pachi" Polanco. The 25-year-old burst on to the scene early in the season, having been held scoreless in his last 12 league matches. Saturday's match saw the striker connect to the end of a floated cross by midfielder Luis Lugo to pull one back for CCFC. In an athletic display, Pachi was able to find space in the box, moving his defender and rising above to head the ball past the goalkeeper. The powerful striker will look to build on his performance (4 total shots, 1 shot on goal) in the next match as CCFC takes on Inter Miami CF II.

Last Matchup

In CCFC's previous matchup with Inter Miami CF II, The Foxes would hold on to draw in regulation and claim victory in the penalty kick shootout.

CCFC would open up the scoring in the 15th minute of the match, following a brilliant solo goal from captain Jacob Evans. After receiving the ball in the midfield, Evans would turn and stride all the way to the edge of the box before unleashing a powerful strike to beat the IMCFII keeper from distance.

In the following moments later, CCFC would go down a man after Kai Thomas was shown a red card for a challenge in the 27th minute.

Down to 10-men, CCFC would fend off an onslaught from Miami until the 80th minute, when Israel Boatwright scored a twisting goal from a set piece.

Following the late equalizer, the match would go to a penalty kick shootout to decide who earned the extra point.

The hero of the night would prove to be CCFC standout goalkeeper Alex Sutton, who, in addition to saving two penalties, scored the first one for The Foxes.

This upcoming matchup with Inter Miami CF II will be the second time the two teams will matchup this season, with the final coming on Decision Day, October 6th.
