End of the Streak

In The Foxes last match, they fell to top of the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia Union II. Despite the controlling the game and amounting the majority of possession, CCFC conceded twice to give Union II the victory.

The month of August was very fruitful for CCFC, as they took their last three matches including a victory against then-number one seed FC Cincinnati 2 en route to winning four consecutive games.

The streak was highlighted by MLS NEXT Pro, Player of the Month, Facundo Canete who scored six goals and two assists in the four game stretch. Canete's run was highlighted by his tri-fecta of braces to lead CCFC, which was done for only the second time in MLS NEXT Pro history.

The Foxes look to bounce back at the weekend against intrastate opponent Crown Legacy FC.

Crown Legacy FC

Crown Legacy FC currently sits fifth in the Eastern Conference of MLSNP with 40 points, having accumulated 10 wins, eight losses, and six draws so far this year. Last season, Crown Legacy FC finished first in the Eastern Conference in their inaugural season with a joint league high of 66 points.

In their last match, Crown Legacy FC fell to Orlando City B in a 4-1 rout. The match comes on the back of an unbeaten month of August, which includes a resounding 4-1 victory over New York Red Bulls II.

This season, CLFC have been led by Aron John (eight goals, nine assists) and Dylan Sing with (seven goals, one assist) as they've climbed up the Eastern Conference standings.

Battle of I-85

In the brief history of the series, Carolina Core FC has gotten the better of the intrastate opponent, defeating them in a penalty kick shootout in the inaugural match for CCFC. That match was followed up later in the season by a 2-1 home victory for The Foxes in July.

CCFC looks to close out the season series with a victory this weekend against fifth seed Crown Legacy FC, as the battle for playoff spots intensifies.
