CCFC Continues a Magical Run, Beating Chattanooga FC

The Foxes took down Chattanooga FC, continuing their hot streak, taking home all nine points available in the past three matches.

Carolina Core FC struck first with a powerful penalty kick from Ibrahim Covi in the 39th minute. Following a foul on Chattanooga, Jacob Evans sent in a cross from the left side of the box towards the back post, which led to CFC defender handball in the box. Covi stepped up to the spot to take the penalty kick and beat the keeper, striking it perfectly in the bottom corner.

The Foxes scored a beautiful team goal, to grab a second goal off a gorgeous shot by Jacob Evans in the 65th minute. Chattanooga was in trouble in the back, leading to them trying to clear the ball away. The clearance from the CFC defense was intercepted after Derek Cuevas stepped in and stole the ball. Cuevas then turned and played a decisive ball, playing Evans into the box. Jacob Evans then took a couple quick touches before passing the ball around the goalkeeper into the bottom right corner.

Chattanooga FC ended the game scoring a goal in the 89th minute from Alex McGrath. CFC was passing the ball around the pitch which started the attack. Taylor Gray received the ball and flicked it perfectly to McGrath who scored the goal, passing the ball past CCFC goalkeeper Alex Sutton.

Davis finished the goal into the back of the net after Nick Pariano crossed the ball into the box. The match score stayed the same until the 88th minute when New York City FC II player, Taylor Calheira received a flick-on pass and scored the equalizer. Just a few minutes later, NYCFC II struck again, sealing the win for the team. Johnathan Shore scored the winner in the 90th minute off an assist from Piero Elias.
