Week 12 of the MLS NEXT Pro season kicks off with midweek action starting Wednesday, June 8th, with matches taking place on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Here’s a glance at how each team fares going into this week’s contests.
In a battle between No. 9 and No. 6 in the Western Conference, Rapids 2 host CITY 2 in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.
Rapids 2 have lost five-straight matches and are coming off of a disappointing 3-1 loss against North Texas SC. CITY 2 meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last three and put on a display in week 11, knocking off Houston Dynamo Dos 2-0.
The impressive win against the No. 3 side in the West sees them hit the road in week 12 in good form.
MNUFC2 is one of the hottest teams across MLS NEXT Pro at the moment, riding a seven-match unbeaten streak. In week 11, they scored two late goals against SKC II to keep their unbeaten streak rolling, winning 2-1 on the road.
Earthquakes II will look to bounce back after falling to Tacoma Defiance, 6-1, in week 11. Their last win came in week eight, a 7-1 victory over Rapids 2.
It’s No. 1 vs No. 6 in the Eastern Conference, with the red-hot Crew 2 hosting Inter Miami II. The Florida-based side is one of two sides to claim three points against Crew 2 this season, winning 2-0 in their inaugural match.
Crew 2 head into week 12 after an impressive 4-2 comeback victory over Chicago Fire II in week 11, while Inter Miami II themselves had an impressive week 11 showing, beating Revs II 2-0 at home.
It will be a clash between two incredibly competitive Eastern Conference sides.
Dynamo Dos host SKC II in a Western Conference clash, in their second meeting of the year this season after SKC II fell 3-0 in week three.
Both sides are coming off disappointing week 11 losses and will look to bounce back as we near the halfway point of the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season.
In their second match of the week, CITY 2 hit the road and travel to take on Fire II.
Fire II saw excitement turn to disappointment in week 11, giving up a two-goal lead and falling 4-2 to Crew 2. The hosts have lost two straight, and will look to take advantage of a City 2 side that will have heavy legs heading into their second match of the week.
The hottest team in the East, RNY FC, will take to the road in week 12 looking to extend their five-match unbeaten streak. Voted MLS NEXT Pro’s Team of the Month during May, RNY FC won all four of their matches in the month.
FCC2 will look to spoil the party, by extending their winning streak to two matches. They knocked off OCB in week 11 in a 5-3 victory.
The two sides went head-to-head on May 8th, with RNY FC winning 2-1 at home. This time around, it’s anyone’s contest.
The two sides played out to a 0-0 draw earlier this season, with OCB2 taking the extra point in kicks from the spot.
In week 11, Revs II had a three-match win streak snapped by Inter Miami II, falling 2-0 on the road. OCB drew NYCFC II 1-1, but fell in kicks from the spot 5-3.
The two sides will look to go back to their winning ways, with the No. 2 Revs II looking to climb ahead of No. 1 Crew 2 – with whom they’re level on points at 21 – while the No. 7 OCB will look to jump to 6th ahead of Inter Miami II.
TFC II put on an impressive week 11 performance against RNY FC, drawing 1-1, but they fell in kicks from the spot. They remain winless in their last five matches. Union II dropped points to Revs II in week 11, falling 1-0.
In their first meeting this season, TFC II will look to snap their winless streak while Union II will look to continue their climb up the Eastern Conference table.

The red-hot Tacoma Defiance will travel north across the Canadian border to take on WFC2 in week 12. The two sides met in week 4, with WFC2 coming out on top 2-1.
Defiance are coming off an impressive week 11 performance that saw them beat Earthquakes II 6-1. Forward Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez sits 2nd in the Golden Boot race while attacker Marlon Vargas has scored in four-straight games.
WFC2 held Real Monarchs scoreless in week 11, winning 4-0 for their third-straight match unbeaten. They’ll look to knock off an in-form Defiance side for the second time this season.
Rapids 2 host Real Monarchs in a match between two sides looking to get their season back on track in their first meeting this season after recent struggles.
Real Monarchs are still looking for their first victory this season and have lost their last six matches. Rapids 2 meanwhile, have lost five in a row and are looking to get back to their winning ways.
