Week 10 of the MLS NEXT Pro season gets under way on Wednesday, May 25 in a midweek clash between Real Monarchs and Houston Dynamo 2. The highlight of week 10 comes in the Game of the week featuring New England Revolution II vs. Philadelphia Union II on Friday.
The opening match of week 10 features the winless Real Monarchs hosting the third overall ranked side Houston Dynamo 2 in a Western Conference clash.
Real Monarchs have yet to claim three points this season and are coming off a 3-0 loss to North Texas SC. For their part, Kenny Bundy's squad is coming off a bye week that last saw them draw MNUFC2 in week eight.
No. 2 ranked Revs II hosts No. 3 ranked Union II in a clash between two top Eastern Conference sides. Revs II is coming off of a narrow 1-0 victory over FCC2 but has won three out of their last four matches.
On the other hand, Union II suffered a 3-0 defeat to RNY FC in week nine. Their first-ever MLS NEXT Pro meeting is expected to be a battle between two Eastern Conference playoff contenders.
Following a 4-2 defeat to Crew 2 in week nine, TFC II looks to get back on track when they host Fire II in week 10. In week three of the MLS NEXT Pro season, the two sides faced off, with TFC II taking all three points on the road in a 4-2 victory.
Fire II suffered a 3-0 defeat to NYCFC II in week nine and are looking to bounce back and earn their second win of the season as they head on the road across the border.
The top team in MLS NEXT Pro hosts an in-form RNY FC in a clash between two of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference. Crew 2 has won seven straight matches and has accumulated 21 points this season.
Meanwhile, RNY FC has won three straight matches and is making its way up the Eastern Conference table after beginning its inaugural MLS NEXT Pro campaign 0-3-1.
Crew 2 goalscorer Jacen Russell-Rowe seeks to extend his scoring streak to seven-straight games, while RNY FC talisman Pedro Dolabella will look to build on the brace he scored in week nine.
Riding a six-game unbeaten streak, MNUFC2 hosts Rapids2 in the club’s debut at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota. The Loons are coming off a 2-2 draw with WFC2 that saw them take the extra point in kicks from the spot.
Rapids 2 are looking to get back on track as they ride a three-game winless streak that saw them concede 10 goals in three matches.
The two sides met earlier this season, with MNUFC2 winning 4-0 on the road in week 3.
SKC II host WFC2 in a match between the 7th and 8th ranked Western Conference sides in MLS NEXT Pro. The two sides met with SKC II taking all three points in a 4-1 victory on the road in week 5.
WFC2 seeks to bounce back after dropping points in weeks eight and nine while looking to exact revenge on an SKC II side that claimed three points on their home ground earlier this season.
An in-form NYCFC II travels south to take on Inter Miami II in a clash between two Eastern Conference sides. Earlier this season, Inter Miami II suffered a shocking 7-0 defeat on the road to NYC II, and this time around, they’ll be looking to level the playing field.
NYCFC II have won four out of their past six matches, with the two losses coming against top Eastern Conference sides Union II and Crew 2.
Inter Miami II is on a four-match skid that has not seen them take three points since April 23rd.
In week nine, OCB broke a 419-minute scoreless streak that extended over four matches in a dominant 6-0 win over Inter Miami II. Forward Jack Lynn scored a hat-trick in the process.
FCC2 suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Revs II in week nine that extended their losing streak to six-straight matches. Since week one of the MLS NEXT Pro season, they haven't claimed a point and will be looking to get back on track in the Sunshine State.
This season's first meeting of the two sides will look for both to get their season back on track with vital three points.
Coming off of a significant 3-1 road victory over Timbers2, CITY2 will look to keep their winning ways going as the No. 5 ranked Western Conference side hosts the No. 8 ranked Earthquakes II.
Sitting just outside the playoff line, CITY2 will defend their home ground in hopes of climbing into the top-four. Earthquakes II, meanwhile. Have won two out of their last three matches – including an impressive 7-1 victory over Rapids 2 in week eight – but are heading on the road after falling 2-1 at home in week nine against SKC II.
Tacoma Defiance will look to extend their five-match unbeaten streak as they host Timbers2, who are still looking for their first three points this season.
Defiance talisman Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez, tied at the top of the golden boot race with Crew 2 forward Jacen Russell-Rowe, will look to build on his goal tally and jump ahead in that race.
Timbers 2 have lost four straight matches coming into the contest but will look to change the course of their season on the road against their Pacific Northwest rivals.
