MLS NEXT Pro's Matchday 14 kicked off Thursday night, with two hotly contested Western Conference matchups.
Here's a look back at Thursday's action in Matchday 14.
St Louis CITY2 (0) - MNUFC2 (0) (CITY2 wins shootout 4-3)
MNUFC2 fended off 14 shots and five shots on goal as they played St Louis CITY2 to a 0-0 result at CITYPark. CITY2's Ezra Armstrong converted his spot kick in the shootout to give his team the extra point. CITY2 goalkeeper Eric Walker made two shootout saves.
Each team picked up points for the second straight game. CITY2 has taken five points from the past two games, after last weekend's win over Real Monarchs.
Whitecaps FC 2 (1) - Los Angeles Football Club (3)
Los Angeles Football Club 2 grabbed all three points in a trip to Swangard Stadium. LAFC2 benefitted from two goals from Yekeson Subah, both assisted by Christian Torres, and a first-half strike from Christian Diaz.
Diaz opened scoring in the 39th minute, finding the ball on the doorstep of the goal after a corner kick and stabbing it in. Subah scored his second goal of the season in the 55th minute, timing his run perfectly to Christian Torres' cross and heading the ball home. Subah scored to seal the win in the third minute of stoppage time, finishing off a ball across the face of goal from Torres. Gloire Amanda pulled a goal back for Whitecaps FC 2, converting a penalty kick in the 73rd minute.
LAFC2 closes out the month of June with a win, after three straight losses.
