Austin FC II forward CJ Fodrey has secured the Goal of Matchweek 3 award thanks to his game-wining goal against Houston Dynamo 2.
Fodrey’s goal took place in the 80th minute of the game, breaking the deadlock that had persisted for much of the match.
Winger Jimmy Farkarlun delivered the game-winning assist, lofting a cross to the second post where Fodrey expertly put the ball in the back of the net.
Fodrey's goal clinched the first three points of the 2024 campaign for his side, securing a 1-0 victory on the road.
Other Goal of Matchweek 3 nominees included Timbers2’s Sawyer Jura, Carolina Core’s David Polanco and LAFC2’s Adrian Wibowo. Fodrey led the poll on X with over 80% of the vote.
Austin FC II will look to earn back-to-back victories when they host St. Louis CITY2 during Matchweek 5 action on April 12th.
