LAFC2’s Matt Evans has earned the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 1 thanks to his outside-the-box stunner against WFC2.
Evans' first-half goal garnered over 50% of the poll vote and edged out strong competition from Crown Legacy FC’s Brian Romero, Tacoma Defiance’s Osaze De Rosario, and Chattanooga FC’s Milo Garvanian to claim Goal of the Matchweek.
Evan’s goal set the tone for a strong first LAFC2 half, but they ultimately fell in a 4-2 shootout.
Since joining LAFC2 in 2023, the Guatemala youth international has featured in over 30 matches, scoring five goals.
LAFC2 will look to rebound against Ventura County FC at Titan Stadium on Friday, March 14.
