Matchweek 4 of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season was highlighted by a Man of the Match performance from Sporting KC II forward Kamron Habibullah, a dominant showing from SKC II in a comeback victory, and a memorable day for Columbus Crew 2's Mohamed Saed.
Here's a look at the top-performing player, team, and rising star of Matchweek 4.
MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchweek 4: Sporting KC II
The first 45 minutes of Sporting KC II's trip to Colorado Rapids 2 on Sunday were a forgettable one, but Benny Feilhaber's squad delivered a stellar second-half performance en route to a memorable victory.
Kamron Habibullah registered a hat trick while Beto Avila added a brace in a 5-3 comeback win over Rapids 2. It marked SKC II's second win of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season and one that snapped a two-match losing streak.
Not many teams have gone into Colorado in recent time and left with three points, but SKC II added their name to that list in style on Sunday night.
MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchweek 4: Kamron Habibullah (Sporting KC II)
Kamron Habibullah made the move to Sporting KC II this winter in the newest chapter of his club career and the young Canadian forward enjoyed his biggest moment to date in his new colors.
Habibullah, 20, scored a hat trick in SKC II's 5-3 comeback victory over Colorado Rapids 2. The result gave Benny Feilhaber's squad six points out of 12 available so far this campaign.
After registering three goals for Whitecaps FC 2 in all of last season, Habibullah is on pace to set a new career-high in fast timing.
MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 4: Mohamed Saad (Columbus Crew 2)
Mohamed Saed is quickly becoming an important player for Columbus Crew 2 this season.
The 18-year-old helped spring Crew 2 to a comeback victory on Sunday, scoring his second MLS NEXT Pro goal of the campaign. Saed's close-range headed finish in the 37th minute tied the match for Crew 2 before the hosts eventually grabbed a 2-1 lead that they would not relinquish.
Saed made two league appearances last season under Laurent Courtois and now has three-consecutive starts under his belt in 2024.
