Huntsville, Ala. (April 5, 2024) – Huntsville City Football Club will play its second road game of the season on Sunday, April 7 at 1 p.m. CT against Inter Miami CF II at Chase Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Here are five things to know for Sunday’s match, airing live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
- The Boys in Blue are seeking their third-straight result against Miami. Huntsville kept the first clean sheet in club history against the Florida side in a 2-0 win on June 18, 2023, followed by a 2-2 draw and 5-4 shootout win on Aug. 27, 2023.
- HCFC Midfielder Jony Bolaños will look to keep his scoring run going against his hometown club. Last weekend, Bolaños joined former Boy in Blue Azaad Liadi as the only Huntsville players to score a hat trick. The midfielder from Miramar, Fla. has had success against his hometown club, netting a brace on April 24, 2023 and adding another goal in Huntsville’s 2-0 win on June 18, 2023.
- Huntsville defender Joel Sangwa and midfielder Brennan Creek are making significant impact to the score sheet early in their HCFC careers, with Sangwa’s one goal and one assist in the last two matches and Creek’s two assists.
- Nashville SC’s Youth Academy, the Gold Mine, is making its mark on the Huntsville City FC roster early on this season. Six Gold Mine players or alumni have made starts for the Boys in Blue in 2024: goalkeeper Jacob Grekowicz, defenders Chris Applewhite and Scott Cheevers, midfielders Isaiah Jones and Alejandro Velazquez-Lopez, and forward Adem Sipić. Additionally, midfielder Dominic Wilson has made an appearance as a substitute.
