Huntsville, Ala. (March 25, 2023) – Huntsville City Football Club will make its MLS NEXT Pro debut at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, when they take on Crown Legacy FC in North Carolina. The debut will be the start of seven consecutive road matches and a bye week before the grand opening of Joe Davis Stadium at 7 p.m. CT on May 19, also against Crown Legacy FC.
Huntsville City is coming off a sensational preseason, going unbeaten in six matches (3W-0L-3D) including three consecutive victories while outscoring opponents 12-5. Azaad Liadi scored a hat trick in the preseason match against FC Cincinnati 2 on March 14 after signing with Huntsville City FC on Feb. 6, 2023.
On Thursday, Huntsville City FC unveiled the ‘First Launch Kit,’ the secondary kit for the club’s inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season and introduced Renasant Bank as the first jersey sponsor in club history. Full information can be found here.
In anticipation of Sunday’s match, Huntsville City FC will host an official watch party for its first match in club history at Yellowhammer Brewing’s tap room, the club’s official pub partner. Fans will be able to watch the match on a big screen on the patio and enjoy drink specials, including $5 pints of Yellowhammer Gold and $6 Rum and Cokes.
As a reminder, all HCFC regular season matches will be available to watch live and on-demand on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. MLS Season Pass is the subscription service from Apple and Major League Soccer that is home to all MLS and Leagues Cup matches and hundreds of MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT matches.
