Huntsville, Ala. (Aug. 25, 2023)– Huntsville City Football Club will play the second game of a two-match homestand when it takes on Inter Miami CF II at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 27 at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. Tickets for the match, which will also serve to drive awareness for Kick Childhood Cancer, can be purchased here.
Huntsville City FC, currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, will look to extend its three-match home unbeaten streak and stay above the playoff line.
Earlier today, Huntsville City FC Head Coach Jack Collison and midfielder Josh Drack previewed the match against Inter Miami CF II, discussing the takeaways from the first two matches, the message for fans amid a playoff push, and the key things the team needs to do to make it to the playoffs.
Fans in attendance will also get to experience the nationally recognized Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium, as “The Joe” is one of six sports venues nationwide nominated for the 2023 SportsTravel Award for Best New or Renovated Sports Venue. Fans can vote here through Sept. 8. The winner of the award will be announced on Oct. 4 at the TEAMS ’23 Conference Awards Luncheon.
HCFC will honor community members and organizations making a difference in our city at every home match. This Sunday, Section 256, a special section in the stadium dedicated to celebrating our community, will host Pediatric Nurses from St. Jude’s and Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. Childhood Cancer Patient Andrew will be honored as the Hero of the Match, as Veteran Colonel Doug Brouillette of the U.S. Army will serve as this week’s Landers McLarty Chevrolet Military Salute.
