Huntsville, Ala. (June 2, 2023) – Huntsville City Football Club will continue its first ever homestand at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium when it hosts New York City FC II on Sunday, June 4 at 6 p.m. CT. The match is the third of four-straight home games.
Season ticket memberships for Huntsville’s inaugural season at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium are still available at www.mlsnextpro.com/huntsvillecityfc/tickets. So far, more than 3,000 season tickets have been purchased for this season.
Come Sunday, fans can expect to see many exciting new amenities at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. The Yellowhammer Brewing Craft Beer Garden will welcome singer Alexis Jackson who will also perform the national anthem.
Huntsville City Football Club will honor community members and organizations making a difference in our city at every home match. This Sunday, Section 256, a special section in the stadium dedicated to celebrating our community, will host guests from the Village of Promise. Veteran Cpl. Brad Robison of the U.S. Marine Corps will be honored with the Landers McLarty Chevrolet Military Salute. Executive Director of the Huntsville Sport Commission Mark Russell will be honored as this week’s hero of the match.
Earlier today, Huntsville City FC assistant coach Omar Jarun and defender Ahmed Longmire previewed the match against NYCFC II. Coach Jarun discussed the team’s preparation, the excitement of playing in front of home fans, and the challenges NYCFC II bring.
Longmire also discussed his goals for the season, how the team needs to start strong defensively, and how they plan to defend NYCFC II.
Huntsville City FC (1W-5L-3D, 3SOW, 9 pts.), currently in twelfth place in the Eastern Conference, lost in its last time out against New York Red Bulls II 2-1. After going down early, Huntsville equalized just minutes later when Tyler Freeman’s free kick was headed home by Chris N’sa. Red Bulls would find a winner from the spot in the second half.
