Huntsville City Football Club Concludes Homestand with 4-2 Win over St. Louis City2

Huntsville, Ala. (June 11, 2023) – Huntsville City Football Club concluded its four match homestand with a 4-2 win over St. Louis CITY2 at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. Jony Bolaños scored nine seconds into the match, the fastest goal in team history and tied for the fastest goal in MLS NEXT Pro history with Columbus Crew 2’s Marco Micaletto in 2022. Nashville SC Academy player Adem Sipić scored his first goal in his first start for HCFC.

Within nine seconds of kickoff, Ollie Wright’s long ball found Bolaños, who fired it into the top of the net for the tied fastest goal in the league.

St. Louis responded with two goals before halftime. HCFC kicked off the second half by finding the equalizer after Kemy Amiche, who came on for the injured Ollie Wright, found Academy player Adem Sipić who scored his first professional goal.

Huntsville would grab the lead from the spot, after Bolaños was taken down in the box, and Amiche converted the penalty. The French midfielder becomes the second player to have a goal and an assist in the same game. The hosts extended the lead when Josh Drack found Amiche for his second goal of the game.

After the match, Head Coach Jack Collison, Amiche, and Sipić spoke to the media. Coach Collsion discussed the team’s strong second half, getting three points during a pivotal week in the season, and how the team needs to recuperate ahead of the two upcoming games in three days.

Huntsville City FC will return to action at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 15 at Toronto FC II. The match can be seen on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, while Huntsvillians can gather at the official watch party being held at Wahlburgers.
