CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Jan. 29, 2024) — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has signed Farid Sar-Sar to a one-year deal with a club option for a year extension, pending league and federation approval and receipt of his P1 visa.
The 24-year-old from Mendoza, Argentina spent last season with Inter Miami II, appearing in 25 matches and starting in 20 during the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season. The center-back scored one goal and assisted one goal during his time in Miami.
Sar-Sar played collegiately with Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During his time with the Sharks, Sar-Sar appeared and started in 39 matches in the Sunshine State Conference in NCAA Division II play.
Sar-Sar spent his youth career with Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza in Argentina.
"We're excited to welcome Farid to the team," said Head Coach and Sporting Director Rod Underwood. "He had a lot of minutes last year with Inter Miami. We've watched him for awhile. He's right and left-footed, which is really important for us in what we're trying to do. He gives us depth as he can pretty much play all across the backline. His MLS NEXT Pro experience is really important for us."
Sar-Sar expressed his excitement upon joining Chattanooga Football Club for the organization’s inaugural season competing in MLS NEXT Pro.
“I am so excited to join a club with such history and closely related to its fans,” said Sar-Sar. “We are going to do our best in order to provide the fans with good football, entertainment and results.
“It’s a great motivation for me to join a club that is community-focused and fully committed to the people.”
Chattanooga FC will compete in MLS NEXT Pro for the first time beginning in 2024. Fans can explore all ticketing options at ChattanoogaFC.com.
