Chattanooga FC Women signs the former University of Tulsa defender for the 2025 season!
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 28, 2025) — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has signed defender Ash Fernandez for the 2025 Chattanooga FC Women's WPSL season, pending federation and league approval.
The Niceville, Florida native made 70 starts across 74 appearances and logged 5,767 minutes in four seasons with the University of Tulsa.
Prior to her college career, Fernandez was rostered on Mexico's U-17 national team for the 2021 World Cup. Additionally, she was a key player on teams that secured the 2019 ECNL National Championship and the 2019 USYSA U19 National Championship.
She was also a three-year letterwinner at Niceville High School, tallying 38 goals earning the No. 1 ranking in the state of Florida and No. 2 in the nation as a junior.
"Ash brings invaluable youth national team experience to the club, along with a commanding presence both defensively and in the midfield," said Chattanooga FC Women Head Coach Juan Hernandez. "Her composure, tactical awareness, and ability to control the game make her a key asset in organizing play and maintaining stability across the field."
"Ash is a professional caliber centerback who has had an extremly successful career at the University of Tulsa and within the Mexico youth national team," said CFC Women Associate Head Coach Maryn Beutler. "I knew that Ash was a future professional soccer player the moment I met her as a member of a Championship USLW team. Her desire to compete, learn, apply and lead is an invaluable asset to CFC Women."
