Chattanooga FC to face South Georgia Tormenta and the University of Alabama in Huntsville in inaugural “Blastoff Battle"

Chattanooga, Tenn. (Jan. 18, 2024) – Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) will participate in the inaugural “Huntsville City FC Blastoff Battle” Invitational Tournament at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium on Feb. 16-18, 2024, as part of the “Huntsville City Soccer Fest.”

The matchups and kick-off times for the tournament have now been announced. The four-team invitational will be the first chance for spectators to see the team in action ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Chattanooga FC will kick off their participation against USL League One side South Georgia Tormenta FC on Friday, Feb. 16 at 4:00 p.m. CT/5:00 p.m. ET.

The club will return to the pitch on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11:00 a.m. CT/12:00 p.m. ET to close out the tournament against the University of Alabama in Huntsville, coached by former CFC player John Carrier.

“At Chattanooga FC we want to challenge ourselves in preseason and this competition will challenge us,” said CFC Head Coach and Sporting Director Rod Underwood. “We started building a competitive relationship last preseason with Huntsville City and we continue building on the relationship. We are looking forward to the opportunity to be hosted by the club.”

General admission tickets for the Huntsville City FC Blastoff Battle Invitational are still available here. At $25, general admission weekend passes give fans access to all four matches, while $15 single day passes provide fans tickets to two matches, either on Feb. 16 or 18.
